Gnarls Barkley have released Atlanta, the duo’s third album and what they have described as their final full-length project. The record arrived on March 6, nearly 18 years after The Odd Couple, and brings CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse back together for a release tied closely to their shared hometown.
The rollout began with Pictures, the group’s first new song in 18 years. In the lead-up to the album, the track was presented as a reflective piece inspired by Atlanta’s MARTA train system, with Green describing it as a return to the spirit that first shaped the project.
Atlanta works as both a reunion and a closing statement for a group that left a lasting mark with Crazy and two earlier albums in the 2000s. This new release adds one more chapter while also making clear that the duo see it as the end of the Gnarls Barkley album story.
