UW-Platteville terminates Athletic Director

UW-Platteville terminated its athletic director last week. Michael Knipe began his career at UW-Platteville in May 2024, previously serving as deputy director of athletics at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. UW-Platteville’s public relations specialist, Christine Bellport confirmed Knipe was terminated last week, but stated the college does not comment on personnel matters. Knipe, an alum of North Central University, succeeded the late UW-Platteville Athletic Director and Assistant Chancellor Dr. Kristina Navarro-Krupka, who died unexpectedly during pregnancy in 2023.
