Billboard chart data shows Michael Jackson’s “Chicago” has entered the Hot 100 for the first time, giving the late pop star another posthumous chart moment more than a decade after the song was officially released.
The track debuts at No. 30 on the chart dated June 6, following a clear jump in streaming activity. During the May 22-28 tracking week, “Chicago” earned 10.7 million official U.S. streams, up 30% from the previous week.
The renewed interest comes as Jackson’s catalog continues to see increased attention tied to the release of the biopic Michael. Older songs can qualify for the Hot 100 when they show meaningful growth and rank high enough to re-enter current chart conversation.
“Chicago” first appeared in 2014 on Xscape, Jackson’s second posthumous album. The song was recorded years earlier and later reworked for the project.
With this debut, Jackson now has 52 solo entries on the Hot 100.
