A tractor driver swerved to avoid an SUV that was on the wrong side of the road and crashed down an embankment in the town of Paris, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy investigating the crash learned that 32-year-old Beau Rindy-Droessler of Cuba City was driving a tractor west on Clay Hollow Road while pulling two flatbed hay wagons loaded with round bales. As the driver rounded a corner, a small- to midsize SUV reportedly came around the corner in the wrong lane. The tractor driver turned right to avoid a collision, causing the tractor to slide down an embankment. The first wagon jackknifed at a right angle, and the tractor came to rest against a tree. The driver was not injured. The SUV did not stop and continued east on Clay Hollow Road. The SUV is a sandy-colored, 2010-15 Hyundai or Honda midsize SUV. The driver of the SUV was described as 25 to 40 years old and wearing a floppy hat. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the crash and asks anyone with information about the SUV to contact the agency.
