MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Common Council is in session Tuesday night.
Among the many things on the schedule, alders are set to vote on ordinances that would further decriminalize the use and possession of marijuana.
District 4 Alder Mike Verveer, the author and co-sponsor of the legislation, pointed to the connection between drug laws and racial disparities in arrests and incarceration rates as a reason to make the changes.
