MADISON, Wis. — Over 7,000 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed throughout Wisconsin in the past day, according to state and county health officials.
With 7,254* new cases, Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 332,680*. More than 74,000, or 22.5% of those cases are still active.
Gov. Tony Evers ordered a state of emergency and reissued a statewide mask mandate Wednesday in response to the pandemic. The current public health emergency is set to expire Saturday.
The seven-day positivity rate for new tests by person remains relatively high at 34.7%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day is at 16.9% as of Wednesday afternoon.

Health officials said 50 more have died of coronavirus complications Wednesday, including four in Dane County. The latest report comes one day after the state confirmed a record-breaking number of deaths. At least 2,841* Wisconsinites have died since March.
DHS officials said 283 more people have been hospitalized, though 11% of the state’s 11,222 hospital beds remain available for new patients.
