MADISON, Wis. — Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County will provide more than 2,800 Thanksgiving meals to families in the community this year.
According to a news release, meals will be given away through Tuesday while supplies last. Each meal comes with a whole turkey or ham as well as “all the fixings.”
BGCDC President and CEO Michael Johnson said “the average costs of this type of meal would be at least $100. Families will now be able to use those savings to meet other pressing needs. It is our goal to ensure no one has to miss out on a Thanksgiving meal.”
The organization has partnered with local leaders and other groups to provide the meals, which will be distributed at the following locations:
- Taft Street Club, 2001 Taft Street in Madison on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.
- Allied Family Center, 4619 Jenewein Road in Fitchburg on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.
- End Times Ministries International 4, 6708 Watts Rd. in Madison on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
BGCDC will also distribute 75 Thanksgiving meals through the Boys & Girls Club of Walworth County staff:
Walworth County Club, 414 Beloit Street in Delavan on Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m.
Those interested in receiving a meal are encouraged to register in advance.
“We are committed to leveraging partnerships to ensure families have access to nutritious food needed in this community,” Johnson said.
