OREGON, Wis. — A mother-daughter duo will be creating and distributing “cookie kits” to the 120 families who will be receiving a holiday dinner from the Oregon Area Food Pantry.
Liane Mede Rhodes, who will be making the kits alongside her daughter, is asking for donations of sugar cookie mix and festive frostings and icings before Dec. 1. Sprinkles were donated to the cause by Layer Cake Shop, Rhodes said in a Facebook post.
“One of our family’s most treasured holiday tradition is a day filled with holiday baking,” Rhodes wrote. “This year my daughter and I are determined to help every family, regardless of income or circumstance, have their own day of holiday baking.”
Rhodes wrote that thanks to donations and help from Oregon residents, her and her daughter are “halfway there.” She said she will make no-contact porch pick-ups of supplies in Dane County, or will shop with funds donated to her Venmo (@laineebeans.)
