BELOIT, Wis. — Police are investigating a shooting in the 1100 block of Dewey Street that hospitalized a 19-year-old early Monday morning.
Officers with the Beloit Police Department said the 19-year-old victim was hit by a bullet fragment around 2:45 a.m. The victim was treated at a local hospital and has since been released.
Officials said the victim’s injury was non-life-threatening.
According to a Facebook post from the BPD, a preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was part of a targeted robbery. Three suspects reportedly entered a residence and started shooting.
Money was taken from the residence during the robbery.
