MADISON, Wis. — Police arrested Reginald D. Funchess for two of the three smash-and-grab business burglaries on Williamson Street early Sunday morning after developing probable cause. He remains the primary suspect in the third burglary.
Funchess was tentatively charged with throwing a brick through the front glass doors at Roman Candle Pizzeria at 1054 Williamson St. and using rock to break out the front door at the Crystal Corner Bar at 1302 Williamson St.
Police said cash registers were targeted in both cases and electronics were also stolen from Roman Candle.
According to the incident report, the third burglary took place at Willaby’s Café, 1351 Williamson St, where a rock was used to break the front door glass and cash was taken from the register. Investigators are still working to establish probable cause in this case.
