MADISON, Wis. — Rep. Mark Born was named the new Assembly Chair of the Joint Finance Committee on Wednesday.
According to Speaker Robin Vos, Born (R-Beaver Dam) will serve as the Assembly Chair, while Rep. Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) will continue as Vice Chair of the budget-writing committee.
“Assembly Republicans have a remarkable team at the helm of the Joint Finance Committee,” said Vos in a statement. “Both legislators have a wealth of experience putting together conservative state budgets. I’m certain they’ll continue to look out for the best interests of Wisconsin taxpayers.”
Born’s appointment will take place at the end of the day Wednesday due to the resignation of former chair Rep. John Nygren.
Born was elected to the Assembly in 2021 and has served on the JFC since 2017.
Vox said the remaining Assembly JFC members will be announced in the coming days.
