DELLONA, Wis. — One person is dead after crashing into a dump truck in Sauk County on Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release, dispatchers received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of county highways H and P in the town of Dellona. Sauk County deputies as well as Reedsburg first responders were sent to the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed an SUV was driving on the highway and turned into an oncoming dump truck. Officials said the driver of the dump truck attempted to steer out of the way but was unable to prevent the collision.
The release said the driver and only occupant of the SUV died at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld until the family is notified.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
