MADISON, Wis. — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed from President Donald Trump’s former attorney which sought to overturn election results in Wisconsin.
According to WisPolitics, the lawsuit was filed from Sidney Powell and attempted to declare Trump the winner of the state’s electoral votes.
The judge denied the request after stating she did not have the jurisdiction to appoint the nation’s president.
“One wonders why the plaintiffs came to federal court and asked a federal judge to do so,” U.S. District Judge Pamela Pepper wrote. “After a week of sometimes odd and often harried litigation, the court is no closer to answering the ‘why.’ But this federal court has no authority or jurisdiction to grant the relief the remaining plaintiff seeks.”
