SHELDON, Wis. — A man was air lifted to an area hospital Thursday morning for injuries he suffered in a crash when his vehicle rolled over and hit a tree.
Officials with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mead Avenue around 10 a.m. Thursday after the driver, who was still trapped inside the vehicle, called for help.
Police determined that the victim lost control of his 1997 Ford truck after he hit an icy area in the roadway.
GundersenAIR responded to the scene to transport the victim.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene with help from the Monroe County 911 Communications Center, Wisconsin State Patrol, GundersenAIR, Sparta Ambulance, Wilton Fire Department and Norwalk First Responders.
Monroe County officials said that despite warmer temperatures, hills and coulees in the area can cause roads to be icy at times.
