LA PRAIRIE, Wis. — The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office is identifying the person killed in a crash earlier this week as 41-year-old Kristin S. Butler of Janesville.
Authorities responded to the crash on South Van Allen Road in the Township of La Prairie on Tuesday afternoon. When they got to the scene, they found an SUV engulfed in flames. An initial investigation found Butler was heading south when her SUV left the road and crashed into a tree in the ditch.
The medical examiner says Butler was pronounced dead at the scene. A forensic exam was done in Dane County on Wednesday and confirmed she died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
The death remains under investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department.
