MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin’s positive percentage of new COVID-19 tests has seen a slight decrease Tuesday, according to the latest data from the state Department of Health Services.
DHS said the seven-day positivity rate for total tests by person dropped to 27.5%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day remained at 10.6%.
State and county health officials recorded 3,408* new cases of the virus, a substantial increase from Monday’s count. However, the current case count is below the seven-day rolling average of 3,421.
With the number of confirmed cases in Dane County declining, officials issued another public health order Tuesday which eases the restrictions on indoor gatherings.
Wisconsin has reported a lifetime total of 442,696* confirmed cases, and roughly 44,000, or 10% of those are active.
At least 4,224* have died of coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic, with 48 more deaths confirmed Tuesday.
An additional 184 people have been hospitalized, which more than doubled Monday’s reported hospitalizations. With 11,129 hospital beds throughout the state, 18% remain available for new patients.
