TOWNSHIP OF BYRON, Wis. — A Monroe County teen is dead after a crash Tuesday morning.
Dispatchers received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 21 and Crescent Road in the township of Byron, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
An initial investigation revealed a 2003 Honda Civic was heading south and did not stop at the highway’s stop sign. Officials said a Kenworth straight truck on the highway had struck the car.
Both drivers were evaluated for injuries and released. The car’s passenger, a 16-year-old Warrens teen, had died in the crash.
Traffic on Highway 21 was closed for over three hours following the accident.
The names of those involved and further information will not be released at this time, as an investigation is ongoing.
