CASSVILLE, Wis. — A horse that had gotten loose was killed Thursday when a Cassville man struck the horse while driving near the intersection of Highway 81 and County Road Y.
A deputy with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a vehicle vs. horse crash.
According to a news release, the man was driving eastbound in a Chevrolet Silverado when the man hit the horse. Officials said the driver was not injured in the crash, but his truck sustained heavy damage.
The horse did not survive the crash.
