ARENA, Wis. — Three people were taken to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Iowa County on Thursday, according to a news release.
Dispatchers received a report of a crash on Highway 14 near County Road C in the town of Arena. The report said there were more than 40 vehicles involved with road blockage and a possible entrapment.
An initial investigation revealed the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had crossed the center line on the highway and sideswiped a car. Officials said the truck collided head-on with another truck that was headed in the opposite direction. Debris from the crash also damaged an SUV.
The two drivers of the trucks involved were extricated by first responders. They, along with the driver of the car, were taken to the hospital for their injuries. The driver of the SUV that was hit by debris did not suffer any injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
