MADISON, Wis. — Madison police found a wrecked Toyota Prius after a report of a street race early Monday morning.
Officials said a witness saw the Prius and a blue SUV racing at high speeds on McKee Road at around 3:15 a.m., according to an incident report.
Police said the SUV cut the Prius off during the race and caused the car to “careen off the roadway, across the median, through a private fence and into the backyard of a house” on the 6400 block of Toribrooke Lane.
The report said the driver of the Prius ran away from the wreckage and was picked up by the SUV’s driver.
Officials said the Prius was not only totaled but had also been recently stolen from the 200 block of Randolph Drive.
