MERRIMAC, Wis. — The Merrimac Ferry will close for the 2020 season starting Christmas Eve.
The ferry will finish its final crossing Thursday at noon, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Since April, the ferry has completed more than 35,000 trips and carried over 200,000 vehicles across the Wisconsin River. The vessel shuttles Highway 113 traffic between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County.
Operations will resume in the spring.
