JANESVILLE, Wis. — A portion of Highway 26 in Janesville has been closed Tuesday night due to a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian, officials said.
The state Department of Transportation said the crash happened at 10 p.m. According to Janesville police, the incident took place at the intersection of Black Bridge Road and Milton Avenue.
As a result, all traffic has been shut down on Milton Avenue from Randolph Road to Newman Street. Black Bridge Road has been closed from Woodman Road to Randall Avenue. The DOT said all lanes of Highway 26 have been closed at Black Bridge Road. Closures are expected to last for more than two hours.
Officers have asked drivers to avoid the area as an investigation into the crash continues. Alternate routes have been set up.
The DOT said the Rock County Sheriff’s Department has responded to the scene.
