MADISON, Wis. — Public Health Madison & Dane County announced on Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccines will be provided to frontline healthcare personnel that are deemed Tier 1a and not affiliated with a hospital, healthcare system or long-term care facility.
Tier 1a is currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and includes individuals who provide direct patient service or engage in healthcare services that cause them to come into contact with patients who may have COVID-19.
The healthcare personnel included in Tier 1a that are eligible to be vaccinated include, but are not limited to, chiropractors, nurses and nursing assistants, dental services, hospice workers, emergency medical responders, pharmacists, long-term care facilities staff, physicians and nurse practitioners.
“We’ve reached an important milestone in the fight against COVID-19, and we’re excited to help provide this important vaccine to some of the frontline workers who play crucial role in keeping our community healthy,” Public Health Nurse Tess Ellens said.
Public Health Madison & Dane County is asking organizations that employ individuals who meet the Tier 1a criteria to submit their information online of they are not yet matched with a vaccinator.
