Madison first responders are evacuating a shelter for people experiencing homelessness because of a gas leak.
According to dispatch, the leak was detected at around 4:00 am Wednesday at North 1st Street and East Johnson.
At least 60 people are being evacuated, and are being held in metro buses.
The building is a city garage that is being temporarily used as a shelter.
No word yet on what caused the gas leak, or if it has been contained.
Dispatch says MG&E has been contacted.
