MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin is reporting just over 1,000 new cases of coronavirus Saturday afternoon.
Combined data from state and county health dashboards showed an additional 1,042* cases of COVID-19 in the state, which makes Wisconsin’s total count of cases since the start of the pandemic 484,270*. Many counties did not update their dashboards on Saturday, according to DHS, which was expected with many testing sites closed during the New Year’s holiday.
No* more people died, leaving the total at 4,947 in the state.
Forty-nine more people were hospitalized between Friday and Saturday, the Department of Health Services said. A total of 4.4% of people in the state with COVID-19 have required hospitalizations.
DHS said 452,502 people, or 93.5%, in Wisconsin have recovered from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
