MADISON, Wis. — An upward trend has continued for the positive percentage rate of new COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin, according to the state Department of Health Services.
The seven-day positivity rate for new tests by person reached 31.5%, while the seven-day equivalent for total tests by day grew to 10.7% as of Monday afternoon.

State and county health officials recorded 1,459* new cases of the virus, a substantial decline compared to Sunday’s count and the seven-day rolling average of 2,255. Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 488,164* confirmed cases, with roughly 26,000, or 5.4% of that amount still active.
Thirteen more people have died of coronavirus complications, bringing the statewide death toll to 4,965*. DHS officials said an additional 51 people have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours. Out of the state’s 11,025 hospital beds, 20% are available for new patients.
A prosecutor said the former Ozaukee County pharmacist who ruined hundreds of vaccine doses told police he believed the medicine wasn’t safe.
