JANESVILLE, Wis. — Officials believe fog caused a head-on collision that killed a man and sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday night.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said it happened just before 9 p.m. on the westbound side of Highway 14 at North Newville Road. Officials said the drivers were the only people in each of the cars.
A 55-year-old man died at the scene. The other driver, a 63-year-old woman, is being treated at the hospital for serious injuries. No charges have been filed.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol are investigating the crash. The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified either person.
