MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Tony Evers has ordered flags be flown at half-staff in honor of the Capitol Police officers who was died from injuries he suffered during the insurrection.
“The Governor has ordered the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds, and military installations of the State of Wisconsin beginning immediately and ending at sunset on January 13, 2021, as a sign of respect for United States Capitol Police Officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood,” officials said in a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs.
Federal authorities said they have started a federal murder investigation into officer Brian D. Sicknick’s death.
According to the release, Evers’ order goes into effect immediately and will expire at sunset on Wednesday.
