PORTAGE, Wis. — A West Allis man has been formally charged with intentional homicide and burglary nearly 18 months after a fatal shooting in Columbia County.
An initial hearing is scheduled Wednesday afternoon for Jason Kijewski, 43, in Columbia County Circuit Court.
He was arrested last week after a search warrant was executed at a home in West Allis. Officers recovered the gun that was believed to be used in the fatal shooting during that search, according to Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner.
Deputies took Kijewski into custody without incident and brought him to the Columbia County Jail.

Keith Wolf, 35, of Poynette, was shot and killed in his home on Sept. 27, 2019. Wolf’s wife had told police he was looking for a possible intruder after hearing a noise in the basement.
Wolf’s death was ruled a homicide.
Shortly after the shooting, authorities said it was believed that Wolf was targeted and that there was no evidence or information to suggest this was a random attack.
