MIDDLETON, Wis. — A 14-year-old Madison boy has been arrested regarding a strong armed robbery at a Kwik Trip last month, according to a news release Friday.
On Feb. 3, Middleton police were called to the Kwik Trip at 7508 Century Avenue for a report of a robbery. A woman told police she was standing near her car when someone grabbed her wallet out of her hand and ran to a waiting vehicle.
Officials later discovered the vehicle was stolen earlier that day out of Madison.
A surveillance photo of the suspect was shared with local law enforcement, and a Waunakee police detective recognized the suspect as a 14-year-old Madison boy.
Officials interviewed the teen March 9, and officials said the boy confessed to the robbery. Charges of strong armed robbery were referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office.
Those with more information on the incident are encouraged to call the Middleton Police Department at 608-824-7300 or Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
