OTSEGO, Wis. — Columbia County law enforcement arrested a man Sunday afternoon after a deputy spotted the man driving in a ditch along Highway 16.
According to a news release, a deputy was traveling westbound on Highway 16 near County Highway A when they spotted the man driving a pick-up truck in a ditch at high speeds.
The vehicle eventually re-entered the roadway and continued on Highway 16, but the deputy lost sight of the vehicle. Another Columbia County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle in Columbus based on a description from the first deputy. Authorities said they ultimately located the vehicle in a driveway at a residence on Charles Street.
When law enforcement officials made contact with the driver, he was reportedly uncooperative and argumentative. Officials eventually identified him as 31-year-old Phillip Rozinski.
According to the release, Rozinski’s breath smelled of intoxicants and he refused field sobriety testing.
Rozinski was charged with fifth-offense OWI, operating after revocation, IID tampering/fail to install and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Columbus Police Department helped the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office with their investigation.
