MILTON, Wis. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a Rock County man who went missing Tuesday.
The Wisconsin Crime Alert Network said Dean Birkeness, 87, went to a restaurant at 100 Front Street in Milton at about 10 a.m. Restaurant employees said he left an hour later, though Birkeness had not returned home as planned.
Officials said his vehicle was last seen going northbound on Interstate-41 at mile marker 127 near Caledonia shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Birkeness is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 156 pounds, has brown eyes, gray hair and wears glasses. He was last seen in dark blue jeans, a brown quarter zip up sweater and dark navy spring coat.
He drives a silver 2019 Chevrolet Trax with the Wisconsin license plates 704-TTC.
