MADISON, Wis. — Dane County officials are asking developers for proposals for a re-development of the Alliant Energy Center.
“We know with the right vision, the future of Dane County’s Alliant Energy Center is bright,” County Executive Joe Parisi said. “As we emerge from the challenges of the past year, this project offers opportunity for economic invigoration while bringing new events to Dane County.”
Parisi said the county hopes to expand the facilities on the grounds to expand the opportunities for the center’s legacy partners including the Dane County Fair, the CrossFit Games, World Dairy Expo, Bratfest and more.
Specifically, the county is looking to expand the Exhibition Hall at the Center to suit those needs and accommodate large trade shows.
“I’m excited to get to work on a project that will help the Alliant Energy Center recover after some very difficult and challenging times,” County Board Supervisor Shelia Stubbs said. “I look forward to being part of the efforts to revitalize this important part of south Madison.”
More than 1 million guests visit the grounds each year, bringing in more than $80 million in local spending. Officials said events at the Center support 1,700 jobs.
