WAUNAKEE, Wis. — Teachers and other staff members from the Waunakee and Sun Prairie school districts marked a milestone on Friday, getting their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
SSM Health’s mobile vaccine clinic at Waunakee High School helped vaccinate hundreds of teachers and staff, as well as librarians from across Dane County.
Erin Williams Hart, a librarian at the Sun Prairie Public Library, was among those to get vaccinated and says it’s been a long year with many libraries not letting people inside.
“We’ve missed the people we’ve gotten to know well. We’ve missed being able to help people in meaningful ways, I just think it’s going to be really wonderful to see some of the people again,” Hart said.
SSM Health says to date, it has given out more than 135,000 doses of the vaccine.
