MADISON, Wis. A report of a child abduction turned into a sexual assault investigation.
According to a Madison Police Department report, they responded to a report Wednesday afternoon of a 13-year-old girl being taken by someone at Waltham Park near McKenna Boulevard.
When they arrived at the park, officers learned the girl had returned home to call 911 after being sexually assaulted by a man.
The girl told officers the man took her to an unfamiliar place and sexually assaulted her.
Police are investigating the incident.
