MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are asking for the public’s help in gathering more information about a suspected abduction and sexual assault of a 13-year-old as they continue to investigate.
Police say they were called to Waltham Park off of McKenna Boulevard south of Raymond Road around 3 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an abduction. By the time officers got there, the victim had already made it home, but reported being sexually assaulted before getting away.
Officials from the Madison Police Department tell News 3 Now officers are continuing to canvass the area Thursday and the department’s Special Victims Unit is working with the victim and family.
The suspect was described as a tall Asian man between 25 and 35 years old driving a black pickup truck. Anyone who saw a black truck in the area of Waltham Park between 2:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. or was at the park at the time is asked to call the Madison Police Department at 608-255-2345 or Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
