MADISON, Wis. — Police say they’ve arrested a man who punched a Madison firefighter downtown over the weekend.
Madison Fire and Madison Police were called to check on the man at the intersection of N. Brooks Street and W. Dayton Street at about 8:35 p.m. Saturday night after getting a report of an intoxicated person laying on the ground.
Police say when first responders got to 27-year-old Tyler J. Peterson, he got up and ran in circles while yelling obscenities, before punching a firefighter in the face.
Peterson was taken to the hospital due to his level of intoxication, where police say he continued to act erratically. He was later taken to the Dane County Jail and now faces charges of battery and bail jumping.
