FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg police are investigating after an officer spotted a group of young men walking by a pair of houses early Tuesday morning.
According to an incident report from the Fitchburg Police Department, an officer saw a black sedan speeding southbound on Richardson Street near McKee Road just after 1:30 a.m., prompting the officer to investigate the area.
The officer later spotted the black sedan in the 5700 block of Wilshire Drive where they also saw three or four young men walking near two different houses in the area. Police said the group ran off as soon as they saw the officer.
Police conducted a K-9 track and subsequently located one subject, a 15-year-old male, hiding outside of an egress window at a nearby home. He was taken into custody.
Officials said the other subjects have not yet been located.
Fitchburg police are asking residents who live in the Seminole Ridge and surrounding neighborhoods to check any security cameras for signs of “suspicious activity.”
