TOMAH, Wis. — Four people were hospitalized Wednesday night following a rollover crash in rural Monroe County.
Authorities with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area near 26537 County Highway CA shortly after 8:15 p.m. for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash.
When they arrived, officials determined the vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling southbound on County Highway CA when the driver failed to keep control of the truck as she negotiated curves in the road.
Officials said the truck rolled twice before it came to a rest on its wheels. Four of the five occupants were taken to an area hospital after the crash.
Authorities said alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The driver, 24-year-old Nicole Ray was cited and summoned to appear in court for causing injury and operating under the influence.
Wisconsin State Patrol, Tomah Police Department, Oakdale Fire Department, Tomah Area Ambulance Service, Fort McCoy Ambulance, Wilton Ambulance Service and Tomah Fire Department Rescue techs helped with the response.
The crash is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
