MADISON, Wis. — More than 4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Wisconsin, according to the latest data from the Department of Health Services.
DHS officials said 4,057,602 doses of the vaccine have been administered to Wisconsinites — including 48,560 shots over the past day — while 1,729,140 people have fully completed the vaccine series.
Health officials confirmed 732 new cases Thursday, an increase from Wednesday’s case count of 626. Two highly contagious COVID variants have also been detected in Rock County, officials announced Thursday.
The seven-day average of new cases per day has also continued to decline, with Thursday’s average at 641 .
The state has reached a lifetime total of 592,994 confirmed cases, and 9,139, or 1.5% of cases are active.
The seven-day positivity rate for total tests by day has slightly dropped to 3.3%.
At least 6,725 people have died of coronavirus complications, with four new death confirmed Thursday.
Another 53 people were also hospitalized in the past day.
