MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 50,000 Wisconsinites were newly vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past day, according to the sate Department of Health Services.
A total of 4,125,027 doses of vaccine have been administered throughout the state, including 49,388 in the past day.
As of Friday, 2,417,622 people have received at least one shot, which is 41.5% of the state’s population. DHS officials said 1,769,406 residents have fully completed the vaccine series, or 30.4% of Wisconsin.

The state reported 795 new cases of the virus, a small increase from Thursday’s case count. The seven-day rolling average also went up slightly to 653.
To date, health officials have identified 930 cases of COVID variants in Wisconsin. The state has reached an all-time total of 593,789 confirmed cases, and roughly 9,100 of those cases are active.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has once again dropped to 3.1%, according to DHS data.

Thirteen more people have died of coronavirus complications, which puts the statewide death toll at 6,738. Health officials said 48 more people were also hospitalized since Thursday.
