FITCHBURG, Wis. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Fitchburg on Tuesday night.
Officials were sent to the intersection of Fish Hatchery and Post roads for a report of a car vs. pedestrian accident shortly before 8:30 p.m.
A news release said officers arrived and found EMS tending to an injured man. Police learned he was hit while crossing Fish Hatchery Road just north of Post Road.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Officials said the driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officials.
Fitchburg police spoke to witnesses but said anyone who saw the accident and has yet to speak to an officer should contact the department at 608-270-4300.
