MADISON, Wis. — More than one-third of Wisconsin residents have fully completed the COVID-19 vaccine series, according to the state Department of Health Services.
Health officials said 2,492,262 have received at least one dose of vaccine, or 42.8% of Wisconsin. As of Thursday, 1,929,913 residents have been fully vaccinated, which is 33.1% of the state’s population.
A total of 4,363,653 doses have been administered across the state, including 42,399 in the past day.
With 43.5% of Dane County residents fully vaccinated, public health officials have issued a new public health order which will greatly ease capacity limits for businesses in the county.

Wisconsin reported 806 new cases of the virus, which is above Wednesday’s case count and the seven-day rolling average of 623. The DHS said 1,159 cases of COVID variants have been identified throughout the state as of Thursday.
Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 597,358 confirmed cases, and more than 9,000 of those cases are active.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has stayed the same at 3.2%.
Eight more people have died, which puts the statewide death toll at 6,815. DHS officials said 73 more people have also been hospitalized within the past day.
