MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating a reported sexual assault early Sunday morning.
According to an incident report, police responded to University Avenue and Mills Street around 1:50 a.m. for an adult sexual assault.
The report said a 20-year-old woman was walking west on University Avenue when she noticed an adult man following her.
While she was on University Avenue near Mills Street, police said the suspect reached up under her dress with his hand and touched her private area.
Officials said the woman screamed and ran away from the suspect and police were called.
Authorities surrounded the area and a Madison Police K9 unit responded, but it did not lead to the suspect.
Police said their investigation is ongoing.
