MADISON, Wis. — Free Bikes 4 Kidz gave bicycles to local non-profit organizations and schools Saturday near East Towne Mall.
Free Bikes 4 Kidz is partnering with 40 organizations to help give bicycles to low income and diverse communities. They are planning to give away over 2,000 bikes in 2021.
“We’re on a mission to see that every kid in Dane County who wants a bike gets one, no matter their financial position or ability. We are dedicated to making the joys of biking inclusive to everyone even if they have different abilities or have never ridden before. Bikes can be modified to fit every individual’s needs,” said executive director Kristie Goforth.
Free Bikes for Kidz Madison hosted its first bike giveaway in 2017. This year, they will be giving away the most bikes yet with a goal of 2,021 bikes.
They are supported by volunteers and relies on donations from individuals and corporations.
