MADISON, Wis. — Madison police responded to a residential burglary on the far west side Wednesday night.
Officials responded to the 9400 block of Spirit Street after a homeowner reportedly confronted a group of people who entered his garage shortly before midnight.
An incident report said one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the 49-year-old man as they ran out to a vehicle that was waiting nearby. The man said his garage door was left open “a quarter of the way” and heard the door begin to open while sitting in his home.
Officials said nothing was stolen from the garage.
The victim described the suspects as four “young looking males” who were wearing dark hoodies that were cinched closed.
Police believe the incident could be connected to a second burglary on the 9400 block of Lost Meadow Road which happened minutes later.
Those with more information on the burglary are encouraged to call Madison police at 608-255-2345.
