LOMIRA, Wis. — Law enforcement officials arrested a man Monday after he led Dodge County authorities on multiple chases and drove his motorcycle through residential yards to avoid police.
Officials said some Lomira residents called police shortly before 12:30 p.m. to report a man who said he was running from police was on a motorcycle and on their property. A sergeant with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was in the area and started a pursuit once he located the motorcyclist. The pursuit was cut short when the suspect began driving off road.
A while later, a resident of Leroy, Wisconsin reported a motorcyclist came to their residence, stole property while threatening violence ad prevented them from calling 911 before he fled.
In the following hours, deputies with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office followed multiple leads regarding a suspicious motorcyclist in the area.
Around 3 p.m., another law enforcement officer tried stopping the motorcyclist after seeing him commit traffic violations. The motorcyclist drove off at high speeds, but officials were able to confirm he was the same motorcyclist as reported earlier.
Dodge County Sheriff’s Office authorities stopped their pursuit when the motorcyclist entered Fond du Lac County.
A short time later, there was a report of a motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. A suspect matching the description of the motorcyclist was found inside a local business and subsequently taken into custody by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Fond du Lac police and Wisconsin State Patrol.
The suspect was then turned over to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
