MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Wisconsin, according to the state Department of Health Services.
A total of 4,996,313 doses have been administered since December, including 21,751 in the past day.
DHS officials said 2,698,327 Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of vaccine, or 46.3% of the state’s population. As of Friday, 2,356,348 residents have completed the vaccine series, or 40.5% of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin reported 406 new cases of the virus, which is above the seven-day rolling average of 373. The state’s all-time total of confirmed cases has reached 607,992, and roughly 6,500 cases are active.
The seven-day average percent positive by test has stayed below 3%, with Friday’s average at 2.6%.
Eight more people have died of coronavirus complications, bringing the statewide death toll to 6,986. The DHS said 76 people were also hospitalized in the past 24 hours.
