MADISON, Wis. — Outdoor UW is bringing back watersport rentals on Lake Mendota just in time for the summer.
Starting May 31, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards will be available for rental from Outdoor UW, the Wisconsin Union’s outdoor recreation arm. Reservations can be made online, by email or by phone at 608-262-1630.
“We can support customers in many ways that they can enjoy the outdoors, whether someone wants to rent camping equipment for an adventure at one of our state’s beautiful campgrounds or to rent kayaks for an immediate trip on Lake Mendota,” Jill Griffis, outdoor recreation advisor and Hoofer club advisor at Outdoor UW. “No matter the skill or experience level, everyone can enjoy Wisconsin’s outdoors.”
Reservations are recommended, but on-site reservations can also be made at the Outdoor UW service desk on the lower level of Memorial Union, dependent on availability.
Outdoor UW also hosts open paddle events, including Family Nights, every Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. from June 15 to Aug. 24.
The return of watersports means the club’s in-person yoga at Memorial Union and stand-up paddleboard yoga classes are back, too. Registration and more information about those sessions are available online.
