MADISON, Wis.– The unofficial start to summer will double as the unofficial start of normalcy for more than half of the people who live in Dane County.
The CDC said fully vaccinated people can enjoy the holiday weekend, worry free.
“That’s one of the benefits of getting vaccinated and getting this level of protection is to be able to go back to normal,” Vice President of Pharmacy Services at SSM Health Mo Kharbat said.
Although getting a shot now is too late to be fully protected by the weekend, Kharbat said one is better than none.
“It’s never too late. You need to get started,” Kharbat said.
To make it easier to get a shot, Public Health Madison and Dane County is hosting pop-up clinics at libraries across Dane County, including ones Wednesday and Thursday.
“Ideally, today is the best day to do that if you haven’t been vaccinated,” Public Health Supervisor Sarah Hughes said. “The sooner you’re vaccinated, the sooner you’re going to be fully protected from COVID.”
The pop-up clinic will be at Madison’s Hawthorne Public Library on East Washington from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.
